Deal with Stains
Before trying to clean any stain of a leather sofa, always check your cleaning solution (no matter if it’s commercial or homemade) on a small hidden area to test if the leather stand it well. Ink stains can be removed with rubbing alcohol. Grease stains can be wiped off with dry soft cloth.
To treat dark stains such as soy sauce or coffee, soak as much of the liquid from the leather as possible. Mix equal parts lemon juice and cream of tartar and apply onto the spot. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then wipe with dry cloth and buff the sofa to restore its gloss. Apply leather-conditioning product.
Just like any other furniture your leather sofa needs professional treatment. Hire sofa leather cleaning specialists at least once a year to maintain your upholstery in better condition.
